Non-joining Letters

These six letters:

ا د ذ ر ز و

(and the laam #alif لام ألف too) are never joined to the following letter.

The remaining letters, called joining letters, when followed by any other letter in the same word, are joined to it. When final, they take a tail.

This means that most of the time you can tell where words end, because every letter with a tail marks the end of a word. The exception are the six non-joining letters above: when you see one, you can't tell if it's at the end of a word or not.

This is the stupid sentence #izdaraduw# wuruwdaa, meaning "they swallowed some roses":

ا ز د ر د و ا و ر و د ا
