First draw an equilateral triangle, beginning at the top,
clockwise (like the Arabic letter ه or the Greek
uppercase delta Δ), and then erase the third side.
You may draw the second side either as a straight line,
or as a baa# باء's tail, but
smaller (just one square long).
The entire letter must fit inside one grid square. Most people have problems to draw it that small the first time, and feel the need to make the first stroke upright and longer, and the scond stroke wider so it "looks like Arabic". If you do that, the letter will look like a ل.
Don't confuse the د with the ل, and don't confuse raa# راء with daal دال.
The daal دال is one of the six Non-joining Letters.
