taa' This letter is a T, more or less. Pronouncing it like an English T can't harm you, but listen carefully to natives as soon as you have an opportunity. Just check out some audio files for now.

Writing the taa# تاء

The ت is drawn exactly like the ب, but putting two dots above instead of one below. See page Dots.

a Variant of the taa# تاء

Some of the word-final taa# تاء sounds are not written with ت, but with a ه with two dots above, which is called bound taa# تاء.
