It was a splendid and sunny day. The brightness of the sky was a good sign the “holy land” of the Apparitions of Mary had given us.

Sister Wivine Kisú, Daughter of Charity and VMY International Delegate, talked about the youth’s mission and the mission of each member in the VMY. She also spoke about the meaning of an educator and a servant.

Father Ziad Haddad mentioned the role of the priests of the Congregation of the Mission. He said that the priest is a servant who gives his point of view and knows how to communicate. However, he is not a superman nor even a leader.

The main topic of the day was “the shared mission”. In this context, Father José Eugenio López, a Spanish who lives in Mozambique, gave a testimony of “conversion”. He did not believe in the mission, but when he saw that the missionary work of the youth in distant countries was great and represents the will of God, he changed his mind.

Then, the workshop was done by Continents in order to evaluate the VMY reality and overhaul the arrangements adopted by the former Assembly.

Father Gregory Gay, VMY General Director, presented the candidates for the Presidency of the VMY International Secretariat. The results of the indicative poll showed that Nelly Jasmine Cajuste (Haiti) got the large number of voices; and came after her Dorys Castillo (Ecuador), Ana María Escaño ( The Philippines) and Tomás Aznar (Spain).

At the end of the day, the VMY in France presented a very beautiful Marian-Mission Vigil in the Chapel of Apparitions.

We began our day with a lively Eucharistic Celebration prepared by Egypt and Cameroon. A technical problem gave us a good laugh, then Mr. Jesus Romero from San Egidio Community informed us about the challenges of the VMY in Church of the Third Millennium . Then, the group work helped us in going thoroughly into the theme. When we returned to the room conference, we knew more about our three candidates for the presidency through their answers on the questions prepared by the Assembly. And then, we shared a delicious lunch that gave us energy to continue our mission during this Assembly. The most expected moment came : Enlightened by the Holy Spirit, we elected our new international president Yasmine Cajuste, representative of the VMY of Haiti. We expressed our deep affection to our new international president. Then, we continue the group work in order to review and analyze the final document of the Assembly. We shared the work that we had done in our groups. By the end of the day, we enjoyed a fantastic Socio-Cultural Night.
