Benalmádena is one of the most important
resorts along the western Costa de Sol. To its West, Benalmádena has
over 10 km of uninterrupted sea and sand, while to the East lies a collection
of small sandy coves, all of which are completely clean and safe. Along
the promenade is a complex of restaurants, cafés, bars, shops, and entertainment
that caters for both young and old alike.
Benalmádena has fantastic weather almost
all year round and boasts one of the highest concentrations of world-class
golf courses. It is therefore perhaps not surprising that the area has
come to be known as not just the sunshine coast of Europe, but also
the 'Costa del Golf'.
As can be seen from the map,
Benalmádena lies to the south east of the largest region of Spain, Andalucia
and is 19kms from Málaga.
A motorway provides good road links all along the coast to Gibraltar,
only two hours drive via Torrelominos,
Fuengirola, and Marbella.
Tthe Principality of Benalmádena consists
of three main areas, the Arroyo
de la Miel, Benalmádena Pueblo,
and Benalmádena Costa. The
Andulacia area provides a taste of truly traditional Spain, with its
historical cities and places of interest such as Ronda,
Granada, and Seville.
