LA ALBUFERA.
The Natural Park of the Albufera (Lagoon) is an extensive lagoon
next to the sea, that constitutes a paradise for the travelling
birds and a zone of expansion of the great city and the municipalities
of its surroundings. In half of the Lagoon, the town of the Palmar
locates itself, traditional community of fishermen surrounded
totally by the lake except by the narrow road that takes until
the town. There you'll be able to eat some traditional plates
(among them the paella, of course) and to give a stroll in boat
by the lake. Next to the Lagoon it is the Meadow of the Saler,
a narrow piece of land of more than 10 km in length and hardly
2 km in width, filled with pines and dunes, and in which protected
native species of great value grow. The coast next to the Lagoon
is characterized by its extensive beaches of sand, ideals to
enjoy the sun and the sea in tourist surroundings specially animated
during the months of summer.
