Caudete (pronouned COW-DET-HAY) is a peaceful village set in beautiful countryside with a relaxing atmosphere. There are many places in this area that are definitely worth visiting. The village is located on the edge of the province of Albacete and is within an hour of the Mediterranean beaches. The village of Caudete is unique, in it still having the evidence of occupation throughout the ages, from Iberians, Romans and Islamic times up to the present day. There are many archeological remains of the different cultures that have settled in this area over the centuries. The most remarkable Iberian pieces are La Dama de Caudete and La Cierva (the deer) from 5th century B.C. And geographically during the Roman period the famous Augustus Way passed to the north of the village.
