360º Tour 2010 anouncement

U2.com U2 has announced the first set of dates in 2010 for the U2 360 tour.

Rehearsals and promo previous to the kick off in Chicago

Tonight kicks off the North-American leg of the 360º Tour with the first concert at the Soldier Field in Chicago. The band has done a couple of rehearsals on Thursday and Friday. The most rehearsed song has been Your Blue Room, which could be the big premiere for tonight.

Final of the Europen leg in Cardiff

Last show of the European leg in Cardiff, Wales, land of The Edge's parents. Bono paid tribute to Edge's family singing a bit of 'Land Of My Fathers' (the traditional Welsh national anthem) at the start of Beautiful Day. See the full setlist on the 360º Tour section

Sheffield

Penultimate show in Europe at the Don Valley Stadium in Sheffield. The show was broadcasted live in several UK radio stations and online with 30 minutes delay. See the full setlist on the 360º Tour section.

New Your Blue Room version with ISS astronauts

U2 is preparing a new versión of Your Blue Room (from the Passengers record) together with the astronauts of the International Space Station (ISS). Acording this report from the NASA, the song will be used during the North American leg of the 360º Tour. Bono said this week that it might be ready in time for the Cardiff show on Saturday.

Glasgow

One show only at the Hampden Park in Glasgow, with a setlist identical to the first night in London, except for Mysterious Ways. The PA system goes down temporarily during Walk On. See the full setlist on the 360º Tour section.

El concierto de Sheffield en directo

U2's gig in Sheffield on next Thursday will be broadcasted live on several UK radio stations. On the internet, it will be available on Q Magazine online radio station, among others.

London (I & II)

U2 started their mini-tour in the UK with two concerts at London's Wembley Stadium this last weekend. Both concert marked a new attendance record for a concert at concert at Wembley, with 88.000 people each night. See the full setlists on the 360º Tour section.

"Songs of Ascent" in December or early in 2010

U2place informs that Sam O'Sullivan, Larry's drum technitian, talked about U2's plans with some fans in Zagreb. According to Sam, the band will return to the recording studio after the Norh American leg to finish their next abum, "Songs of ascent", and release it in December or early in 2010.

Sam also said that they are studing the options to take the 360º Tour to Australia and New Zeland in March, prior to their summer return to Europe.

During their stay in the city, the band has received and award in recognition of their humanitarian activities.

Chorzow

Concert at the Slaski Stadion in Chorzow. After Stuck in moment, the crowd sings Happy Birthday to The Edge, who turns to 48 on Saturday. As they did during the Vertigo Tour, el crowd fills the stadium with white and red signs to form the Polish flag. See the full setlist on the 360º Tour section.

Gelsenkirchen

Concert with several problems ate the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen. During Vertigo, one of Edge's amps has broken and the band has got to restart the song. The screen has had some problems to retract after Crazy tonight. Edge & Bono has done several mistakes and messed up some songs . See the full setlist on the 360º Tour section.

U2.com ha premiered the first of the four possible video for "I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight", the thirdsingle for No line on the horizon. we know that the band recorded images for another video at the Camp Nou in Barcelona, on wednesday the 1st of July and also during the second concert on Thursday the 2nd, when they repeated the song in its "standard" version

Berlin

Concert in Berlin and a new surprise with Stay, that has been played for the first time in this tour in acoustic version by Bono and The Edge. During Angel of Harlem, Bono brings ~~two~~ three fans on stage to play guitar, bass and drums. Before the last song, Bono leads the crowd in singing Happy Birthday for Nelson Mandela. 522.405 tickets sold in 6 concerts

Acording to Billboard, the first 6 concerts of the 360º Tour have all been sold out, with a total of 522.405 tickets sold, and a gross sales of 55,9 Milion $ (40 milion Euro).

182.055 people went to see U2 in Barcelona, 153.806 in Milan and 186.544 in Paris.

Second concert at the San Siro stadium in Milan. Edge and Bono have played an acoustic version of Stuck in a moment. The band has played Electrical Storm again. By now, the fou concerts of the tour have had diferent setlist.

First of the two concerts in Milan, and setlist almots identical to the first in Barcelona. Snipped of Stand by me after I Still haven't found, and adding of Party Girl with a snipped of Happy Birthday for Bono's daughter Eve, who turns 18 today. Bono brings her on stage with a bottele of champagne.

Second concert with some surprises

Update 13:30: We have added 30 pictures of the second concert and 18 of the first one in the section Bcn'09

U2 ha introduced some surprises in their second 360º Tour show at the Camp Nou. El band has played Electrical Storm for the first time ever in a concert. Before it, they played Desire y Party Girl, also new additions in this second show. During the encores, they repeated I´ll go crazy if I don´t go crazy tonight, but in its standard version. Bono explained that they'll use it for the song's video. The rest of the setlist was the same as Tuesday's.

Opening night

Today opens the 360º Tour with the first concert at the Camp Nou in Barcelona.

U2 Barcelona will be in the concert, and will inform about it as soon as possible.

Yesterday the U2 made their last rehearsal prior to the tour, with 500 guests and a representation of the Special Olimpics. The concert has last for about 2 hours, and the setlist has been the same as last saturday, except two missing songs.

Bono sang again in yesterda's rehearsal, despite his voice was not completely recovered. From 22:00 till 00:20 the band did a full setlist without new surprises.

New tickets on sale for the Camp Nou

New tickets have gone on sale for both concerts at the Camp Nou. They can be bought on Ticketmaster.

Bono has left the stadium at mid-afternoon, and the rest of the band has done a rehearsal with severeal tests. It seem that they have done some technical test and practiced the link between some songs.

After the rehearsal,Edge went out of the car to salute and shake hands with the about 80 people that were waiting outside the stadium.

Complete rehearsal between 22:00 and 00:00. They added a new song to the possible setlist. Bono showed several voice problems and didn't sing in his usual power. At the end of the rehearal he apologised for his voice.

Long rehearsal yesterday, with a fisrt part with some try outs, and a second part with a full set. Two new songs were rehearsed, and they have practiced up to 27 by now.

The band went back to rehearsals yestarday, after a day off on Sunday. They rehearsed a short set, and repeated several times the transition between two songs. No new songs at all, but a diferent version of one tryed before.

After the rehearsal, Adam and Edge went out of the car to salute the about 50 people that were waiting outside the stadium. Adam signed some records, while Edge just shaked hands with some afortunates.

The band didn't rehearsed yesterday (Sunday), but today they are back at the Camp Nou, so a new rehearsal is coming.

Third rehearsal at the Camp Nou in two parts shorten than the previous ones. A new song was rehersead fro the first. Bono thanked the fans gathered outside, and stopped to see them at the exit.

Rehearsal from mednesday the 18th

Second rehearsal at the Camp Nou. This time in two parts, the first during the afternoon and the second between 22:00 and 23:00 hour. The band left the stadium between 00:00 and 01:00, without stoping in front of about 60 fans.

U2 will make a dressing rehersal with audience on Monday the 29th at the Camp Nou. Only 500 people have been invited to this private and "secret" show.

The band arrived yesterday at Barcelona and went to the Camp Nou to see the stage. This afternoon they have been at the Camp Nou doing rehersals.

There are only two weeks left to the tour opening in Barcelona. The stage is already completed, Larry's drums and Edge's, Adams, and Bono's gear have been installed, and first sound test have started.

Exhibition U2: 1979-2009

On the occasion of the U2 360 Tour opening shows in Barcelona, Centre Comercial Magic Badalona, a shopping center in Badalona, very close to Barcelona celebrates the exhibition U2: 1979-2009. All the material shown at the exhibition belongs to Museu del Rock – Colección Jordi Tardà and compiles items from the different stages U2 have covered since 1979 to nowadays.

The exhibition will be opened till July 1st. Admission is free. U2 3D The movie will also be screened during this period (dates yet to be confirmed).

Museu del Rock is expected to open in Barcelona in a couple of years and will be the house of one of the biggest music memorabilia collection around the world.
