Technology

Technology - love it or hate it - many extreme sports have benefitted from advances in technology.

Skiing has been a method of travel for a number of years, but the slow evolution of modern bindings coupled with first composite then carbon fibre skis has changed the sport.

In a similar way, the advent of smaller lighter surfboards opened up the art of surfing for a large number of people.

In the skydiving world, parachute technology has advanced rapidly in the last few decades, with "wingsuits" and BASE jumpers leading the way.

This section looks at technology in extreme sports, enthusiasts' attitudes to technology and how technology could advance in the future.

How much do you rely on technology?
Have there been any improvements in technology that have changed the nature of your extreme sport?
Has new technology a positive effect on your extreme sport e.g. made it safer, faster or better in any way?
Has new technology had a negative effect on your extreme sport?
What technologies do you think are exciting for the evolution of your chosen sport?
If someone could invent a piece of technology that changed you sport - what would you like it to be?
What do you think of technology anyhow? i.e. are you a gadget freak, web head and tech-lover or do you have trouble programming the video?
