Near Death Experiences

If a sport is dangerous enough to call extreme, and there are accidents, then sooner or later there will be fatalities.

In America 210 people die while horse riding every year, but the BASE fatality list only lists a total of 91 fatalities since 1981

Which is the safer sport? Which is percieved to be the safest sport?

Deaths can happen in every sport but extreme sports enthusiasts take extreme measures to stay alive in the face of known risks.

However it can still go wrong. This section explore the moment when everything goes horribly wrong and you think you aren't going to make it.

Have you ever had a close call with death?

What happened? How did you escape death? How did you feel afterwards?

Did it make you think about giving up your chosen sport?

Have friends or family attempted to curb your enthusiasm for your chosen sport because of the risks involved?
